About Claire Gregoire
As President and CEO of KAMDEN Strategy Group, Claire Gregoire has successfully combined her various positions in the corporate world with her role of business owner, capitalizing on her more than 30 years experience. This translates into a consultant who has real life experience as well as a realistic understanding of the challenges, opportunities and needs of her clients. It is this perspective that creates the platform for success with the business owners and key executives she works with – helping them crystallize their goals and develop strategies that drive the right kind of results.
Prior to starting her own company in 2000, Claire most recently served as group vice president for Chicago-based CNA Financial Corporation. In this role, she worked with the eight major business segments of CNA to develop strategies for revenue and profit growth. She also worked closely with the CEO in the design and implementation of a turnaround plan for a Fortune 500 company.
Overall, Claire’s corporate experience with two other Fortune 500 companies was played out in the arenas of corporate strategy, business development, risk management, human resources and profit and loss management. Functioning as more of a management consultant than employee to the CEO’s within those organizations, she was instrumental in developing corporate identities, mission and vision philosophies and organizational cultural values.
Claire believes in giving back and getting involved. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin where she serves on the Executive Committee, and is chair of the Admissions Committee and the past chair of the Audit Committee. A Charter Friend of Boardroom Bound, she is also a founding member of the Ripon College Institute for Ethical Leadership, and is on the ATHENA PowerLink Governing Board. In addition, she has served as 2004 – 2005 President for the National Association of Women Business Owners, Chicago-area Chapter.
Well-grounded in education, Claire earned a masters of management degree with concentrations in finance, marketing and international business from Northwestern University's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Illinois. She received a bachelor's degree from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin.
With a strong commitment to having a balanced life, Claire enjoys life with her husband Joe and revels in the achievements and accomplishments of her nieces and nephews.
Claire’s business philosophy can be best illustrated in her own corporate re-focus. She started her company in 2000 as claire martin associates. She felt it was important to have her name (literally) on the door because it was a “relationship sell.” And that worked until strategy dictated otherwise. KAMDEN Strategy Group was born out of Claire’s recognition of the need to follow her own advice. The new name is more representative of the work she is doing for her clients, the direction the organization has gone and the decisions she has made about her own company’s future. Now that’s practicing what you preach.
